DUNGEONS INFORMATION
Most of this information is from my limited experience, and the game Hint
Book which has Maps of the Planets, Towns, and Dungeons. If you don't have
the Dungeon Maps or walk-through help, complete Dungeon exploration is
VERY difficult. Normally, you have to go to Level 13 (each area, to find
a Pack, Re-charge Unit, etc.), AND safely return back to the surface. I
don't know where the Super-Conductor is, and have not been able to get
below Level 5 in Dungeon 4 Area "c" (Underwater along the East or West
edge). The Dungeon Door is on Elira, and a Pack is down there (probably at
the bottom).
A number of normal commands are not useable in the Dungeons (B, E, F, M,
Q, R, S, T, and X). MOST notable one: "R". You can't SAVE your position.
Your last Save Position will be (automatic by the game) at the Dungeon
Door your Entered.
When a Dungeon Door is Entered, the game Prompts to place the Dungeon
Disk in a drive, Typw it's drive number ("0" or "1"). There are 7 Dungeons
in the game. Each has up to 14 Levels (Numbered 0-13 in the game Hint Book).
For mapping purposes, the Levels are square-shaped, 48X48 cells, moves, etc.
(which includes 3 "spaces" E-W and N-S for the outlining & dividing Walls).
Most Dungeon Levels are divided into 4 quarter, Areas. Entering a Dungeon
Door puts you in one of these Dungeon Areas at Level 0. For easier reference
I'll label these Areas as "a", "b", "c", and "d" (Dungeons 6 & 7 have 5
Areas. An "e" will be added for those). An Area's size varies a bit. Area
"a" is 22X22, Area "b" is 23X22, Area "c" is 22X23, and Area "d" is 23X23.
Dungeon 6 is the same, but it's Area "d" is divided vertically into two
equal 11X23 Areas. Dungeon 4's N-S Dividing Wall (between the East & West
Areas) is a bit "Jagged".

Normally, you cannot move from one Area to another, but a few (no Dungeon
Door to them) can be entered from an adjacent Area in the same Dungeon
(see next page). The 4 Areas of Dungeon 4, and 5 of Dungeon 7 are a little
different. Those, and other differences will be coverd in a later issue.
The View-screen shows a 3-D presentation, and it takes a little "getting-
use-to" this graphics display. You need a light source (Pine Torch, Oil
Lamp, Enchanted Torch, or a "Call Light" Spell), and each one lasts a
certain amount of time. You only see in the direction you're facing. To
Face a different direction, use the Left, Right or Down, Arrow keys. Use
the SHIFT key with an Arrow Key to move side-ways or backwards. A Black
line on the Floor, marks the limit of the Cell where you are standing.
Example: If you see Blue Water (Sink UNDERWATER to the next Level), or Red
Lava (KILLS!), AND there is no Black line, the USE CAUTION, a move in that
direction puts you in it! Underwater Penality: Each move made LOSES 5 HPs/
group member. Look (L), if you're not in the same cell with another item,
describes an item in the next Cell, otherwise it only describes an item
in your Cell. Pop-up Screens (Combat, etc) are the same as before. You'll
also see Gold Ladders (with a hole in the ceiling or Floor), Gold Chests,
Green Fonts (Heal, Cure, and Poison - all look alike), Yellow Support
Columns, Dark green & brown Bridges, Black Pits (fall to the next Level
into WHATEVER is there), Walls, and NEW Monsters.
A Gem O'Seeing is VERY helful in the Dungeons (let Juliano carry it, and
your Light source. The Gem seems to last forever). A Gem view-screen (top-
view of your position in black & white) is automatically displayed, whether
a light source is being used or not. You can see 6 moves (cells) in any
direction. An Arrow in the center marks your position, and points in the
direction you face. The screen top is always North. "M"s are Monsters, and
Ladders look like Ladders. All other items are shown as "Question marks"
(?). You can explore, by only using the GEM SCREEN, and use Look to identify
the "?'s". Two exceptions: Normally you can't see a Drip (don't know what
that is, but you can hear it) or a Weak Floor. They are not described when
using Look. The "?" on the GEM-SCREEN is the ONLY indication you have that
something is there.

few places. The Levels are a normal "square". The dividing Walls
